Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using the FraudRadar Service. It is part of the Terms of Service and applies to every user and account, including Authorized Users acting under an organisation's subscription. It is designed to keep the platform useful for the legitimate anti-fraud community and to protect users, third parties, and FraudRadar itself.
01Purpose and scope
FraudRadar exists to detect, document, and disrupt online fraud. This AUP applies to all interactions with the Service — dashboards, APIs, browser extensions, alerts, support channels, and any data you export from the platform. It supplements, but does not replace, applicable law.
02Prohibited content
You may not submit, publish, or transmit content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, or invasive of privacy.
- Contains malware, exploit code, ransomware, or instructions for committing fraud or cyber-crime.
- Depicts or promotes the sexual exploitation of minors, terrorism, or serious violence.
- Infringes intellectual property, trade secrets, or other rights of third parties.
- Knowingly misidentifies a person or brand as a scam without supporting evidence.
- Reveals non-public personal data (PII) of victims or alleged perpetrators beyond what is needed to document a scam.
- Contains payment-card data, banking credentials, or government-issued identifiers (e.g. passport numbers) outside the strict minimum required to evidence a fraud.
03Prohibited conduct
- Attempting to access accounts, data, or systems that do not belong to you.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service without prior written permission (see Security).
- Interfering with the Service through denial-of-service attacks, automated scraping, or unreasonable load.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or extracting source code from the Service, except to the limited extent permitted by law.
- Bypassing or attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits, paywalls, or other technical controls.
- Using bots, headless browsers, or other automated agents to interact with the dashboard outside the documented API.
- Reselling, sublicensing, leasing, or redistributing the Service without our prior written authorisation.
- Using the Service to send spam, phishing, or other unsolicited communications.
- Misrepresenting your identity, your affiliation with any organisation, or the source of any submission.
04Brand monitoring rules
- You may monitor brands you own, represent, or have a legitimate interest in protecting (for example, where you are engaged by the brand owner or are acting in a documented investigative capacity).
- You may not use brand monitoring to harass competitors, conduct anti-competitive surveillance, or build dossiers on individuals unrelated to a legitimate fraud investigation.
- Notifications generated by the platform must not be republished verbatim in a way that misrepresents FraudRadar as the original source of unverified intelligence.
- You are responsible for ensuring that any takedown request you submit based on FraudRadar intelligence is lawful and accurate.
05Submissions and evidence
- Submit only evidence you have a legal right to share and that you have obtained lawfully.
- Redact bystander personal data where possible, and never include payment-card PANs, full bank credentials, or sensitive identity documents.
- Do not submit content under privilege (legal, medical, journalistic) without authorisation from the privilege holder.
- FraudRadar may verify, edit for clarity, anonymise, or reject submissions that do not meet quality, safety, or legal standards.
- We may share confirmed intelligence with partners, regulators, registrars, hosts, payment providers, and law-enforcement agencies to support takedown and enforcement.
06Use of intelligence
- Intelligence delivered through the Service is licensed to you for internal fraud-prevention purposes within your organisation.
- You may share excerpts with regulators, law enforcement, registrars, hosts, and payment providers as needed for takedown and enforcement.
- You may not republish bulk feeds, resell, or expose the Service's data through your own commercial offering without our prior written consent.
- You may not use the Service or its outputs to train competing scam-intelligence models or machine-learning systems.
07Automated access and APIs
Use of the API and any automated clients must comply with documented rate limits and authentication requirements. We may throttle or block clients that exceed fair-use thresholds, ignore retry guidance, or degrade Service performance. API keys are personal to your account; you are responsible for keeping them secret and for all activity performed with them.
08Account hygiene
- One account per person; do not share credentials.
- Use your real name and a corporate email address where you are acting on behalf of an organisation.
- Remove Authorized Users promptly when they leave your organisation or change role.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or suspected compromise.
09Reporting abuse
To report content or conduct that violates this AUP, email support@fraudradar.co.uk with as much detail as possible — URLs, account names, screenshots, and a description of why you believe the AUP has been breached. We investigate every report. Please do not retaliate against suspected violators; let us handle it.
10Enforcement
We may take any of the following actions when we believe this AUP has been violated:
- Issue a warning or request remediation.
- Remove or unpublish offending content.
- Throttle, suspend, or terminate the responsible account.
- Revoke API keys and integrations associated with the offending account.
- Refer the matter to law enforcement, regulators, or affected third parties where appropriate.
Repeated or serious violations may result in permanent account termination without refund. We aim to act proportionately and will consider the context of the violation, the user's history, and any remediation already taken.
11Appeals
Decisions can be appealed by writing to support@fraudradar.co.uk within 30 days of the action, explaining why you believe the decision was incorrect and providing any supporting evidence. Appeals are reviewed by a member of the team not involved in the original decision and we aim to respond within 10 business days.
12Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect new product capabilities, emerging fraud patterns, or regulatory changes. Material changes will be announced via email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated AUP.
